The NED Show, a Yo-Yo show that tours schools and teaches ‘Never give up, Encourage others and Do you best’ has a bit of flack in the news recently, parents criticising it for being too heavy on the sales side.
I don’t know much about NED and can’t really comment on the quality of their show but I remember their sales strategy being used when I was a kid. Indeed this kind of thing has been going on for decades and is not a new push for privatisation in the class room as some seem to think.
I have a memory of a musician doing a jaw harp assembly and then selling them afterwards. I was about 7 at the time and loved my jaw harp, for the next few weeks I pretended to be a robot with much glee.
